Peery’s Egyptian Theater

Built following the discovery of King Tut's tomb, this elaborate theater began life in 1924 as a movie house.

Threatened with demolition, it was saved from the wrecking ball and completely refurbished. In 1997, it opened again as a performing arts venue, connected to the newly built David Eccles Conference Center. Adorned with statues of pharaohs and deities and ornamented with brightly colored hieroglyphics, the spectacular structure also has an amazing interior complete with starry ceiling and beautiful, thematic artwork.
